Dean's 1st bike when he was a teenager was a 1962 Sears Allstate 250. That's right Sears Roebuck made motorcycles which he rebuilt from scratch. You can laugh now because he had that bike until 1985. Want a better laugh, he kept his first 24" Huffy bicycle until 1995. Has owned his riding lawn tractor for 30 years and has a 63 Vette he has owned for 31 years. Safe to say he likes old machinery. In '92 Dean broke bad an ordered a NEW red Fat Boy® and waited the usual 11 months for only 1 of 3 Fatboys his local dealer would get that year. Before he took the back seat off he ask Debbie if she wanted to try riding again.
Debbie had a mini bike accident at age 9 and was terrified to ride again. But Dean talked her into hopping on to ride around the block. One year later, a motorcycle course, and practice on Dean's Fatboy®, she was riding her own new '94 Heritage Nostalgia® and embarrassing lots of guys. In 2000 Dean also purchased a
Confederate motorcycle as an alternative to a sport
bike and of course Debbie rides it too.
After working 70 hours a week for 11 years at their own tool franchise, they retired in 2001 determined to enjoy their hobbies which included anything that had an engine and traveling. Of course one of them was motorcycle rallies and events.
Just like most seasoned riders, they have been to the
BIG rallies several times. Myrtle Beach, Daytona, Sturgis,
York open house, and countless H.O.G.® state rallies and
most bike shows in between. They still loved the events
but the price gouging, weather, worry about bike theft and
the same old carbon copy thing was getting to them. Despite
a little excitement now and then, the cold hard facts were,
they were facing hobbie burnout. Their fun hobby was
becoming stressful and even boring. Exactly like there Corvette hobbie in the 70's. Of which they both finally gave up but of course kept the car. Unwilling to give up this
motorcycle hobby, something had to change.
Phase 1
Rather than give up our favorite hobby and the people we enjoy spending our time with, we decided to offer a completely new rally alternative. An event that would breathe new life, FUN and adventure into the word "rally". What better way to end your riding season (for most of us) than the most carefree environment in the world - the warm Caribbean. One of the largest cruise ships in the world had everything we were looking for. One set regular price (no price gouging) great weather (usually 80 - 85 degrees) and if it rains we can stay inside the floating city & wakeup tomorrow 300-500 miles away. No setting in one rainy spot for 7 days. No worries about our bikes. But there will be bikes!
We had cruised several times in the past and understood the attraction. Any travel agent can book a group cruise (of which we weren't). The challenge was turning it into a rally. As you view our website keep in mind this had never been attempted before and at times we learned why not, but forged ahead anyway. Choosing the right cruise line, the right ship, and then having them accept our concept was another challenge.
From past cruising experience Royal Caribbean's "Voyager class mega-ships" was our 1st and only choice due to the fact that only these ships had room for vendors. These are the most celebrated mega ships on the planet. Having key staff people aboard ship and in high ranking positions that were motorcycle riders was a big help while we explained that motorcycle riders weren't what you see in the 60's movies. We agreed to an initial ½ ship charter with room to add on and with the blessings of one high ranking fellow motorcycle rider (Royal Caribbean's captain of security) practically got the run of the ship. I forgot to mention the money & hard work, but I'm sure you will figure that out later.
Anyway,
after spending our life savings and writing checks
for phone bills that are more than most house payments.
it happened. 1st. item we changed was
the dress code. It's regular biker attire. Oh yeah!
Guys will like this rally as much as the women.
Why a rally on a cruise ship?
First the date, 2nd week of November has something
to do with it. As a worldwide rally, much of the
riding season is winding down due to colder weather.
Why should that stop a rally? It wouldn't on a cruise ship
in the Caribbean.
Motorcycle riders come together at rallies for several reasons.
To socialize with friends with
a common interest and make new friends.
To travel to new and exciting
different locations. ( Can't get much newer and exciting
than this)
To see the newest motorcycle
vendor products
To see the newest Bike builders
projects
To take your most fun vacation.
To Party!!!
And of course ride your bike.
But the season is all but over for most of us by November
and despite motorcycle rallies all over the world...2/3 of
the world is water - why not rally there?
We have exciting beautiful
new Tropical locations
Motorcycle vendors aboard ship
giving away $5,000 plus per vendor
Bike builders with new projects

port a couple days early and rent a bike. You can also rent
scooters in Grand Cayman and Cozumelor Jet Ski in Labadee.

We want our rallies to be your most memorable vacations
PHASE 2 they just keep gettin'
better!
In 2005 and 2006 we offered a 7 day Alaska rally also. Although Alaska cruises are the highest rated and most sought after cruises, they are also one of the most expensive and border crossing has become very difficult for our vendors so we have backed away due to much lower attendance numbers and changing border policies since 911. We will return in 2009, leaving from Seattle and with 2 years experience we feel we have learned much and made many connections and friends in Alaska.
In the meantime, our Caribbean rallies have earned the reputation of being more fun than most can handle. Selling out almost 1 year in advance, our regulars and those traveling from the West Coast want one on there side of the U.S. again but down South and since our FUN-loving family has grown so much we are adding new rally destinations. In responds to our West Coast participants that are traveling the longest distance to our Caribbean rally, we will now bring the fun to them.
Our Mexican RivieraRally will not disappoint and has all the ingredients to soon rival our Caribbean rally in every category. It is currently scheduled to rotate years with the return of our Alaska rally. Mexican Rivera is scheduled on even years, 2008, 2010, etc. Alaska will be on odd years, 2009, 2011, etc. So if you miss them you wait 2 years. Our Caribbean rally is an annual event. If the Mexican Rivera sells out as quickly as we expect, it’s possible it could become an annual event
With 4 years under our belts in the Caribbean, this rally
is rated in the Top 10 of all U.S. Motorcycle events. If there
were a rating for FUN and giveaways per participant, there
would be nothing to compare our rally to! And that's exactly
how we want it...like nothing else in the World! This definately
ain't no copy-cat rally! So battin' down the hatches for The Hogs On The High Seas Rallies, and rally outside the box. You won't be able
to wipe the smile off your face.
And let's face it; 2/3 of the Earth is water - why
should that stop Motorcycle Enthusiasts?
